Hughes Family History - Manchester (UK) and Hammond Family Trees

Hughes Family History, Hammond Family Tree, Norton Lees Shuffle, In Search Of... and the Fabulous Phantom*****

One of the key reasons for doing this website was family research and the Hughes Family Tree. Previous visitors will know that I had done a lot of other things with it but only a little family research. Well if you are here for good genealogical reasons the boat finally came in. There is now a lot more family history, the tree has gone from an acorn to at least a good sized willow if not an oak! You will find what is where and why from the updates page or directly using the "In Search of .." button below.

The above weather thingy lets you either gloat at how much better your weather is (likely) or be envious at how great it is in England's 4th biggest city - only London, Liverpool (ugh, even if it is now some European capital of culture) and Birmingham (yuck) are bigger - bet you didn't know that. It's the biggest City in Yorkshire, being just bigger than Leeds (double ugh). The other stuff is still there and I will update it periodically so do keep the interesting links and anything original and humorous coming.

Finally it is possible that you are simply here because of the "Weirdstone" and Alderley connection, in which case you can bypass all my ramblings (at least most of them) by clicking here: Or, if you don't have java switched on (which is the default), click here to reach the pages. Oh and if you don't like music now is the time to switch off your speakers as it happens here and there.

If you are a returnee any thoughts, comments, or ideas for developments are welcome here - well unless they are really rude or involve spam! When the site was last updated and what is new can be found here:  This link will also give you the latest news about the site and any technical issues too.

Site Overview OriginsThese links give you a bit of background to the thinking behind the site in general and our friend the Phantom in particular. Each section is complete to itself and hopefully navigation is clear and simple. From most parts you can retreat to this homepage to re-orientate yourself.

I hope you find something of interest, I've tried to balance the use of effects against download time, and it is worth letting the pages fully download. There are a number of hidden effects built in so it is often worth letting your mouse wander over images, and many images can be made bigger by double clicking.

The main subsections can be followed from the navigation bar below.
