If these are the gallant questers, who
sustains them in their hour of need? Who carries them back when they are near
their limits? Who are the women of the Challenge? What mysteries do they
perform? From where do they come? What sustains them in their vigil? What role
does the Asian continent play in all the
ir
efforts?
Lady Gwen
the Diva
The elder sta
teswoman,
whose origins lie in the mid-Shires. Much
has been written of her connections with the Jillings tribe, indeed
it is said that second born was named for that reason and first born gained
promotion thereby. But out of the shrouds of
myth the scholars tell us that Diva is the Latin for Goddess, and divan, meaning
comfortably or well upholstered, takes the same root. In some tribes she is
known as the "PM" - or "Leaderine".
A woman of wondrous abilities and appetites, it is said that she can drink ten
good men, of lesser origins, under the table. Moreover, she has historical links
with the home area of the challenge, having been
educated in those parts (and means). She speaks the ancient Norse tongue and is
versed in the mythical ways. Indeed, a more suitably qualif
ied supporter of the
challenge would be hard to find. Whilst
the questers are at their work, it is said that she and the Lusty one do visit
the Asian places and partake most comprehensively and with abundance. This be
the stuff(ing) of great legends.....
